The Reality of Race

The topic of race has been a controversial issue in fields of science such as Anthropology, Genetics, Evolutionary Biology, Psychology, Sociology, & Pharmacology, most scientists accepted that race is a biological fact until the mid 20th century, when the era of Civil Rights arose, the concept of race has declined as a biological fact within scientists since then, today most scientists believe that race is a social construct, that it's just skin deep, that all Humans are 99.9% related, that all Humans are the same subspecies, & that it's just a adaption to the environment.

So is this all true? well let's take a look, shall we.

  1. When two couple of the same race (say a Caucasian couple) have a baby, it won't look like a Amerindian or Sub-Saharan African, it will look Caucasian just like the parents.
  2. When a person tests with DNA companies such as AncestryDNA & 23andMe, it can tell someone's race or ancestry just by looking at bits of DNA.
  3. Forensic Anthropologists can identify someone's race or ancestry just by looking at the skeleton.
  4. Examples of genetic conditions that are more common in particular races or ethnic groups are sickle cell disease, which is more common in people of African, African American, or Mediterranean heritage; and Tay-Sachs disease, which is more likely to occur among people of Ashkenazi (eastern and central European) Jewish or French Canadian ancestry. It is important to note, however, that these disorders can occur in any ethnic group.
  5. 95% of the population across sub-Saharan Africa lacks the protein—a genetic trait called “Duffy negative”.
So there is plenty of evidence that race is a biological fact, & not a social construct, race is genetic, to say race doesn't exist is just a silly thing to say, as a amateur anthropologist, I been studying racial classification since I was 13 (I'm 19 now), & I found that race is a biological fact.

Race denialism can be traced to Boasians, a group of Anthropologists influenced by Frank Boas, however like I mentioned above, the race denialism wasn't popularized until the 1950s & 1960s, race deniers as simply wrong, & race realists are right, science is with us, & that's how it is.
